ARSENAL boss Unai Emery says Arsenal have plenty of work still to do to sign Dani Ceballos permanently.

The Spanish midfielder has already become a crowd favourite, and while his recent form has taken a dip, he seems keen to stay at the Emirates.

Fans have taken to Dani Ceballos since he joined Arsenal on loan from Real Madrid

But Emery, speaking to the Spanish press, stressed that Ceballos is still learning the ropes at Arsenal.

As reported by the Metro, on whether Ceballos will sign permanently, Emery said: “I think it is very soon to say that.

“Ceballos is doing great things here, he is playing regularly.

“Of course I know he has a lot of potential and I think this is just the beginning. But always all the players need time to adapt to the Premier League. Hes in that process and I really want to accelerate it

“We are trying to use that energy and enthusiasm reflected in the way we want to play.

“But I think its very soon to say that we want to incorporate him in different conditions.

“We are only in October, still a long way to take that process.

“The ultimate goal for me with Ceballos is that he can bring us all his potential and help us to achieve all our goals as a team, with more positive performances.

“We are more than happy to count on him.”

ARSENAL ‘IMPORTANT STEP’

Ceballos has been shunted out of Real Madrid, and while not giving up completely on his career with the Spanish side, he has hinted he would be prepared to move to Arsenal permanently.

Speaking ahead of Spain’s Euro 2020 qualifier against Norway, he said: “Going to Arsenal has been a very important step in my career.

“I dont feel sorry for not being inMadrid. Right now I am where I want to be and I am very happy.

“My idea was to go out, play and enjoy football. In the previous two years I had not done so.

“My goal is only to work to keep doing things right.

“I have eight months left at Arsenal, I can only thank them for the confidence that the coach and fans have placed in me, who have already made me a song.

“I am very happy there and I hope to continue for a long time.”

But the latest reports coming out of Spain are that Arsenal have already had a 35million rejected for the 23-year-old.
