Fantasy football fans FUME at Pep Guardiola for dropping Aguero for Man City vs Aston Villa

PEP GUARDIOLA was branded as “disrespectful” as he had Fantasy Football players fuming for dropping Sergio Aguero.

The King of Rotation struck once again, leaving out one of the game’s prolific point-scoring stars for Manchester City’s home game with Aston Villa.

It meant the Spaniard instead opted for Gabriel Jesus to lead the line at the Etihad while Joao Cancelo was given a run-out at right-back ahead of Kyle Walker.

Aguero – who has eight Premier League goals this season – played the full 90 minutes in midweek against Atalanta, bagging twice, while Jesus was an unused sub.

City’s substitutes today also included Claudio Bravo, Angelino, Nicolas Otamendi, Phil Foden and Riyad Mahrez to make up one of the strongest benches in the Premier League.

But it is safe to say plenty of gamers were unhappy with the Manchester City selection.

One wrote: “Pep just likes being in people’s mouths and tweets… Why bench aguero when you know the whole world has him on their fpl… Dude is not injured, is he???!!”

Another said: “Pep Guardiola is most disrespectful manager ever. Does he not understand the need to play Aguero every game for the sake of every fantasy football team.”

A third added: “2 weeks in a row of aguero being captained by me and 2 weeks of being benched. Cheers pep.”

And a final user tweeted: “How is pep not putting Aguero? Hope city loose and it’s time to take aguero out of my fantasy team. Enough is enough lol.”

But a few players were desperately hoping Aguero stays on the bench – because they captained Jamie Vardy.

The Leicester striker picked up 20 points for his hat-trick and assist in the 9-0 thumping of Southampton last night.

@mickybhoyg said: “Need to hope Aguero doesn’t come on at all for double vice captain points with Vardy.”

And @AndrewKeavey82 added: “Lets hope Aguero stays in the bench got Vardy as vice captain.”
