How Man Utd could line up if they swap Pogba for Bale and land transfer targets Mandzukic and Muller

MANCHESTER UNITED could have a completely different line-up if Gareth Bale becomes one of FOUR new signings for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Real Madrid are hoping to tempt United to sell them France World Cup-winning midfielder Paul Pogba in a swap for Wales legend Bale plus 85million.

Solskjaer has also been strongly linked with a move for Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic.

The Norwegian has been linked with Bayern Munich striker Thomas Muller, as well as a 60million deal for Leicester’s England left-back Ben Chilwell.

Chilwell’s signing would surely mean some movement in January out of the exit door at Old Trafford.

Solskjaer already has Luke Shaw, Marcos Rojo and Ashley Young available in this position.

But the arrival of Bale, Mandzukic and Muller would surely sharpen the firepower he has at his disposal.

Solskjaer and United chief Ed Woodward have been severely criticised for not bringing in another striker after the 73m sale of Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan.

Old Trafford chiefs also let Alex Sanchez join Inter on loan for the rest fo the season, but are paying much of his wages.

United’s problems up front were compounded by the long-term injury to France hitman Anthony Martial.

He has only just returned to the line-up.

It has meant Solskjaer has had to rely on teenager Mason Greenwood.

United, who visit Norwich tomorrow, have scored just nine goals in their last 12 matches.
