Both Abraham and Tomori have received England call-ups owing to their sensational club form this season.

Talks are now thought to be underway regarding new deals for the pair – which would see the youngsters double their money – with Lampard hoping for a positive update.

When asked if he wanted the youngsters to stay at Stamford Bridge, Lampard revealed: Of course, I do.

That goes slightly out of my remit when they are dealing with the club.

“The club know I love the players, I brought them into the team this season.

They are doing particularly well but I leave those conversations to the club to discuss contracts.

“But, of course, I want them to be here for a long time. Thats the conversation for me and the club I suppose.

“I made it clear that they are playing very well and I want them to stay.

Meanwhile, Lampard could be given another boost in the coming weeks, with Chelsea chiefs confident their transfer ban will be lifted in January.

The Blues are hoping to bring in Timo Werner and Callum Wilson to provide support for Abraham.

The likes of Nathan Ake and Ben Chilwell are also on the club’s radar should their embargo come to an end early.
