A JEALOUS WAG smashed a glass over the head of her footballer boyfriend after she spotted him talking to another woman on a night out.
Lauren Dinse, 31, left former Middlesbrough and Aberdeen star Josh Walker needing 11 stitches and bleeding heavily from a deep head wound.
The 30-year-old was rushed to hospital following the incident at trendy Lulu nightclub in Edinburgh on December 9 last year.
Dinse pleaded guilty to assault at Edinburgh Sheriff Court and will be sentenced next month.
Prosecuting, Alistair Millar told the court: “This incident took place in a nightclub where the accused has witnessed the complainer was speaking to another female.
“Her reaction to this was to hit him over the head with a glass.”
Dinse has two children with the footballer but it is not known if the pair are still in a relationship.
Defending, Chelsea Martin said she would reserve mitigation until the sentencing hearing.
Sheriff Cottam adjourned the hearing for the preparation of social work reports.
Walker retired from football last month following a two-year stint with Scottish side Edinburgh City.
He started his career in the Premier League with Middlesbrough, before going on to play for a host of sides including Watford and Scunthorpe United.
The midfielder also captained England at the 2009 Under-20s World Cup in Egypt.
He famously scored for Aberdeen against Bayern Munich in a 2-2 draw during the club’s 2007-2008 UEFA Cup campaign.
Walker played for Aberdeen in 2008 and scored against German giants Bayern Munich
