Midfielder Matic becomes a free agent in June and looks set to depart Old Trafford after falling out of favour under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Now The MEN claims his concerns over his lack of action costing him his international place with Serbia for the showpiece tournament next summer could lead to an early move.

United have an additional 12-month option on the stars contract, but they could decide to cash in instead once the window re-opens, with Inter Milan keen.

And Solskjaer could use any money received towards a replacement with a new attacking midfielder believed to be among his top priorities.

The Red Devils boss has been focusing on youth this season, introducing a number of youngsters into the senior set-up on a regular basis.

But Matic has already voiced concerns over the squads lack of experience, saying in July: Quality and experience brings you the title.

In this squad we have quality and no experience. We have five or six top players, but they are still young, like Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.

They have shown their quality on the pitch but they are too young to lead the team of course.

Matic joined United from Chelsea in a 40m deal back in 2017 and has started 63 Prem games out of 76.

He has been sidelined for the past month with an unspecified injury and was in Dubai recently for some warm weather training.
