Even Arsenal fans think Leicester should have had a penalty as VAR misses Guendouzi foul on Soyuncu

LEICESTER were denied a clear penalty in tonight’s late kick-off and even Arsenal fans are blasting VAR over it.

Matteo Guendouzi pulled back Caglar Soyuncu at the back post as Leicester swung in a free-kick.

Matteo Guendouzi got away with this pull as Caglar Soyuncu tried to get on the end of a free-kick

But the video referee decided to stick with the on-field decision and the Gunners ace got away with it.

After Sheffield United were denied a goal against Tottenham in controversial fashion earlier today, fans took to Twitter yet again to slam the system.

Snooker ace Sean O’Sullivan blasted: “What game do they be watching in that VAR room?!? Im a gooner but Ive got no problem in admitting that was a penalty by guendouzi for that free kick.”

While former Leicester goalscorer Gary Lineker referenced the Blades offside call as he added: “One replay was enough to see that that was a penalty on Soyuncu.

“Not given, of course, but theyll spend 3 minutes playing with their silly offside lines to try and rule out goals. Weird.”

Leicester had the better of the first half but could not break the deadlock as the game remained goalless, with both sides needing to improve after the break.

Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder saw his side rescue a draw despite having their goal ruled out and thinks VAR needs improvement.

He said: “It affects the game, the length of time it takes, that’s the disappointing aspect of it.

“We have to have a big look at it in the summer, it is going to be here to stay.”
