Slate House back to his best warn Team Tizzard ahead of Saturdays BetVictor Gold Cup

TEAM Tizzard warn BetVictor Gold Cup favourite Slate House is back to his best.

The 5-1 jolly bounced back with an emphatic win at the Showcase meeting last time out earning a 12lbs rise in the weights.

And connections have had this race in mind over the summer after a couple of wind-ops and a break look to have done the trick.

Joe Tizzard, assistant to dad Colin, said: He was always on catch up mode last year after he picked up a knock at Aintree.

He ended up on a lovely mark and why we have lost that now after his win, we probably needed it as he may have not even got in!

His performance at Cheltenham was very good. We thought hed run well but not quite as well as he did.

Two years ago he beat Summerville Boy at this meeting at we think hes back to his best now at that sort of level.

Slate House was a 33-1 shot for Saturdays feature before his run at the Showcase, but has been backed into the pre-race favourite with the sponsors.

Festival winner Siruh Du Lac and Spiritofthegames are next in at 7-1 and Saint Calvados is 10-1 after Mondays confirmations.
