ANDY MURRAY has revealed how he got FAT while looking after his newborn child Teddy as he gorged on chocolate biscuits!
Murray ballooned to almost 14-STONE the heaviest weight of his career as he and wife Kim cared for their newborn.
This was only a few weeks after winning the European Open in Antwerp on October 20, which his wife and two daughters missed as they were having dinner at Wagamama.
Relaxed Muzza said: Evenings were the issue when the new-born has been going to bed at 7pm and sleeping for a three-hour period.
My wife would sleep upstairs and get a period of good sleep before the baby would wake up.
Id be on my own downstairs with chocolate biscuits and stuff.
There was Halloween and second daughters birthday party, then also my sister-in-law had a birthday. So there was lots of cake and junk. And no training is not a good combination!
I was 88.5 kilos and Im usually 84kg.
Then with tongue firmly in cheek, as befits a man at peace with himself and the media, Murray said he didnt want to end up tubby like ex-coach Ivan Lendl.
Murray joked: Hell probably kill me for saying this but I always said I dont want to end up with what happened to Ivan (Lendl).
When he was playing he was in great shape and very thin. And when he stopped things went south. So I need to avoid that.
His wife Kim gave birth to their third child Teddy Barron Murray less than a week after the Antwerp win.
With an ever-growing family, Murray concedes he will have to tailor his playing and training schedule.
His current itinerary involves a two-week training block in Miami in December, then Christmas in Scotland before flying to Australia on December 27 for the ATP Cup and Australian Open build-up.
Unlike Roger Federer, whose four kids travel round the world to events, Murray says he does not intend to take the children on long-haul flights.
Murray, 32, said: In the last year or so when we travelled originally with our first daughter I guess selfishly I really wanted to be around her as much as possible.
But actually after we went to Australia the first time with her and lost early, it was a really long trip.
We went home earlier than expected and for the first week or eight days I didnt particularly like trying to wake my daughter up in the middle of the day.
So we decided we wouldnt be doing anymore long-haul trips anymore because its better for them.
Its something youre going to have to factor in when scheduling and planning but also my off-season how much time to spend away from home.
MAD FOR IT
Murrays performances since career-saving hip surgery in January have been nothing short of remarkable.
The hip is fine thanks to the metal implant and apart from a sore elbow he is in good nick.
The big question, of course, is whether his body can sustain the rigours of fortnightly Grand Slam tennis.
Murray says his physio is optimistic about his chances because he loves the fact theres a day off to rest and actually recover.
The next assignment, however, will be the Davis Cup in Madrid next week.
Britain face Holland and Kazakhstan on Wednesday and Thursday respectively.
The competition has undergone a redesign and instead of home-and-away knockout matches it will now take place over the course of a week.
The world No125 is concerned about the lack of atmosphere and potential ticket chaos for British fans in the Gerard Pique-bankrolled event.
He said: Im excited and intrigued to see what itll be like with the new format.
Im going to miss the atmosphere because I dont think the atmospheres going to be the same as some of the home or the away ties. Like the Belgian final and my first Davis Cup in Israel.
From what I hear weve sold a lot of tickets and will have a decent fanbase out there.
But how does that work if we get through to the quarter-finals who has tickets for that? How many can stay?
