THE deluge that battered Cheltenham for most of the week has finally relented – and Saturday’s card at Cheltenham WILL go ahead.
One spot of false ground had been a cause for concern but conditions had improved enough to give the green light following a 3pm inspection.
A statement from the course read: “Following an inspection this afternoon, Racing will go ahead on Saturday 16th November and Sunday 17th November.
“The Going is currently SOFT, HEAVY IN PLACES.
“Both the third last hurdle and third last fence will be omitted to ensure that the horses run on the best possible surface in that area of the course.
“The Cross Country course has also been given the all clear for Sunday, ahead of the rescheduled Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase, with the Aintree Fence (Fence 4,27) omitted.”
