Harry Kane urges England fans not to boo Raheem Sterling in Kosovo after Joe Gomez was jeered in Montenegro victory

HARRY KANE hopes Englands fans will not turn on Raheem Sterling in Kosovo tomorrow.

Three Lions skipper Kane wants no repeat of the jeering of Joe Gomez at Wembley, which left the Liverpool defender devastated after Thursdays 7-0 win over Montenegro.

Harry Kane has urged England fans to avoid booing Raheem Sterling

Sterling, left out of the squad after his restaurant clash with Gomez, will start tomorrow.

Despite just 750 England fans travelling, there are fears Sterling or Gomez could still suffer some stick.

Kane said: I dont think any player should be booed so hopefully it wont happen to Joe or Raheem if they play.

“It is about moving on, we did that on the pitch and the talking point should have been the 1,000th game, a 7-0 win and qualifying for next years Euros.

I find it really confusing why Joe was booed. I dont think any player should be booed. I know how important club football is with City and Liverpool and all clubs.

But at international level, we are all England fans and the bottom line is that Joe is a great guy.

We cannot control the fans or what they do but Joe has a top mentality and is fighting to play on Sunday.

Gomez could start as Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate wants to rest Harry Maguire, but Tyrone Mings is also in contention.

Kane also gave a further insight into his role after Sterlings meltdown with Gomez on Monday which followed Manchester Citys 3-1 loss at Liverpool.

He said: In life, in football, as one of the leaders, stuff happens and you have to adapt and control the situation.

I thought the gaffer, myself and Jordan Henderson handled it as well as we could have.

Emotions were running high just after it happened so I spoke to Raheem and then a few of the senior players about what we should do.

Joe and Raheem then got together and had a chat and then after that, I spoke to Joe again to see how he was.

He was feeling better after his chat with Raheem.

Raheem put out a tweet and apologised to Joe and has taken not playing at Wembley on the chin.
