Arsenal outcast Mohamed Elneny rejected by AC Milan after midfielder shows interest in January transfer switch

ARSENAL outcast Mohamed Elneny has reportedly been rejected by AC Milan – after offering himself up to the club.

Elneny, 27, is currently on loan at Besiktas but doesn’t look to have much of a future under Emirates boss Unai Emery.

Arsenal flop Elneny, left, was reportedly rejected by AC Milan

He joined the Gunners in January 2016 for around 7million but last played for the club in May of this year before his move to Turkey.

And now the Mirror say Elneny has taken measures into his own hands by reportedly offering himself up to other clubs.

They cite reports in Italy which claim the midfielder got in touch with Milan through an intermediary.

But the Serie A side reportedly rebuffed his advances because he would be low down the pecking order of midfield options.

Former Basel star Elneny is yet to score in nine games for Besiktas and managed just two in 89 appearances for Arsenal.

He found his place with the Gunners under threat following the arrivals of Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi last year.

Elneny has an optional buy-out clause with Besiktas.

But they may snub that offer after he was given a red card on his debut for the club and banned for three games.

Meanwhile, Arsenal will reportedly offer Granit Xhaka back to Borussia Monchengladbach.

That is part of a deal in which they would get the German side’s star man, Denis Zakaria, in return.

Gunners outcast Xhaka is heading for the exit door in January after his stunning fallout with supporters which led to him being stripped of the captaincy.
