British tennis star Liam Broady slams revamped Davis Cup format, calling it a shambles

BRITISH tennis star Liam Broady has slammed the new Davis Cup format, calling it a shambles.

The Stockport star, 25, made fun of the inaugural finals in Madrid which have undergone a huge revamp this year for the first time since its inception in 1900.

Liam Broady has lashed out at the new Davis Cup format

There have been issues with the official app giving out the wrong scores, plus many problems with TV graphics and advertising boards flashing up while players are serving.

There has also been criticism about matches finishing late as organisers try to squeeze the 18-nation event into a week format.

The United States’ clash with Italy didn’t until at 4.04am.

Broady, who played against Spain in the 2018 Davis Cup, quote-tweeted a mock message in quotes accompanied by a photo of a guy chatting up a woman in a nightclub with the request: Caption this.

The world No243 said: Now there are no home and away ties, its all a shambles in my opinion.

The competition is dead, have you seen the new format? The live scores are all over the place.

“Some players finish at 5am and have to play again the next day.

Bring in a combined Super Cup I say.
