Cristiano Ronaldo ruled out of Juventus game against Atalanta despite scoring 99th international goal last week

CRISTIANO RONALDO has been ruled out of Juventus’ game against Atalanta through injury – despite scoring his 99th international goal last week.

The former Manchester United star, 34, is reportedly at war with Maurizio Sarri after appearing to shout “what the f***?” after being subbed against AC Milan earlier this month.

Ronaldo was passed fit to play for Portugal, but not for Juventus
Sarri continues to claim Ronaldo is merely injured, playing down row rumours

And despite playing TWICE for Portugal during the international break Sarri has claimed Ronaldo is too injured to play against Atalanta.

Ahead of Saturday’s game, Sarri was grilled about the on-running saga surrounding the club’s 99million man – with reports claiming he is set to quit Juve and rejoin Man Utd.

Sarri revealed: “There is no need for clarification with Cristiano Ronaldo.

“At certain times, the players must be left to recover and cool down.

“The problem is that on Tuesday he told us that he is still not well.

“When he returned he told us he had been better in the first game [for Portugal], but in the second he still had pain.

“This is why he 99 per cent will not be ready for Atalanta.

“The goal is to have him back for the Champions League [against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday].”

Despite the rumoured rift with Sarri, Ronaldo recently looked to play down the whole situation.

On his situation at Juve, Ronaldo recently said: There was no controversy, you create controversy.

“In the last three weeks I have been limited.

“Everyone knows that I don’t like to be substituted, but there was no problem in my gestures after the change. I tried to help Juventus by playing injured.

“No one likes to be replaced, but I understand it, because I wasn’t well in those two games. I wasn’t 100 per cent.”
