Arsenal fans call for Unai Emery to be sacked after dreadful Gunners rescue late draw against Southampton

GUTTED Arsenal fans are calling for Unai Emry’s head after a dire 2-2 draw with Southampton.

The Gunners needed a last-gasp Alexandre Lacazette goal to earn a point against the struggling Saints.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery has struggled to get performances out of his side

And after seeing their side struggle to beat a team who lost 9-0 to Leicester, Gooners want the board to act.

One fuming fan tweeted: “Dear @Arsenal, how many retweets to get #EmeryOut by Monday morning?”

And another added: “I’ve seen Arsenal sign Bendtner, Andre Santos, Gervinho, Chamakh, Senderos, Sanogo, Gazidis as chief executive and still the the worst recruitment ever by Arsenal is Unai Emery. #EmeryOut.”

Boos ran out around the Emirates after the final whistle and Emery is now second-favourite to be the next manager to lose his job – after ailing West Ham chief Manuel Pellegrini.

The under-fire Gunners boss admitted the performance was not up to scratch after a frustrating afternoon.

He said: We are disappointed and frustrated so I understand the supporters. We know feeling comfortable here is the key but we didnt do that.

The best 20 minutes of the whole season came at the start of the second half but they scored when we were better maybe.

We draw at the last moment but its not enough. I understand the supporters are angry.

The players are feeling the same and my job is to find out how to improve and the key is here with the supporters.

Our target was to win but above all the play well and we didnt do that.

Highlighting his rage with capitals, an Arsenal supporter fumed: “DISGUSTING POST MATCH INTERVIEW FROM EMERY!!!! What positives is he talking about!!!??? Why is Emery smiling??!!”

Mauricio Pochettino’s availability was pointed out by a number of fans and there are already pictures of the former Tottenham boss standing in front of an Arsenal badge circling on social media.

Manchester United, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are all potential destinations for the highly-rated tactician.
