NGolo Kante reveals he rejected chances to join PSG and insists he is happy at Chelsea

N’GOLO KANTE rejected chances to join Paris Saint-Germain and insists he is happy at Chelsea.

The Blues midfielder, 28, has been a long-term target for the Ligue 1 club because of his exceptional performances since arriving in England.

N’Golo Kante turned down opportunities to join Paris Saint-Germain because he is enjoying life with Chelsea

He played a pivotal role for France as they lifted the World Cup in Russia last year.

And following that tournament, PSG were understood to be very keen to lure the star back to his homeland.

In the end, though, Kante committed his future to the Stamford Bridge side by penning a fresh five-year deal last November worth 290,000 per week.

PSG have reportedly not given up in their pursuit of the central midfielder just yet and could make another ambitious move next summer.

Real Madrid are also understood to be very keen on luring Kante away from West London.

But speaking of his opportunities to leave, he told Canal Plus: “Sometimes we do not necessarily know where we want to go.

“But we know what we have. I know I was in Chelsea and I was good there.

“If I did not want to come to PSG it was more a sporting choice.

“I felt good in London, in the project and I was happy to stay there.”

KANTE BELIEVE IT

Kante’s career over the last four years has been nothing short of remarkable.

He joined Leicester from Caen in 2015 for 5.6million and shone alongside the likes of Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez as Claudio Ranieri’s 5,000-1 shots won the Premier League.

After just one season at the King Power, a release clause in his contract enabled Chelsea to secure a 29m deal.

The lovable, humble Kante, who still drives a Mini and is considered one of the nicest guys in football, lifted the Prem for a second season in a row in 2017.

He was named Player of the Year by the PFA, the Premier League and the Football Writers’ Association.

Kante then lifted the FA Cup and World Cup last year before securing the Europa League in May as Chelsea beat Arsenal 4-1.

He has struggled with injuries this term limiting him to just six Premier League appearances.

However, the midfielder scored his third goal of the season in the 2-1 defeat at Manchester City on Saturday.

Incredibly, his poked finish beyond Ederson at the Etihad was just his third shot on target this season, scoring the other two against Liverpool and Southampton.
