ALAN KING has revealed Harambe is still in contention for Ascot’s Betfair Exchange Trophy on Saturday.
The six-year-old was lame on Tuesday morning but has pleased his trainer since.
King said: “He was sound this morning. If the lads are happy tonight and if he is OK tomorrow morning, I will probably declare him.
“He would have to breeze on Friday morning.”
Winner of the Greatwood Handicap Hurdle when last seen, the son of Malinas would bid to land a lucrative double if lining up in Ascot’s 150,000 contest.
King added: “These things happen all the time, it is just unfortunate it has happened twice when he has been entered to run.
“I thought yesterday (Tuesday) it was right to say he has an issue, but he was perfectly sound this morning.”
Harambe is a general 7-1 shot for Saturday’s contest.
