The Blues boss celebrated wildly after the final whistle following his side’s 2-0 win at the Tottenham Stadium

And Lampard, who has vowed never to follow old boss Jose Mourinho into the Spurs dug-out in the future due to the intense rivalry between the clubs, also won high praise for bamboozling the Portuguese coach with a formation switch to three at the back.

But it was not just the tactics the 41-year-old got spot on, it was his chest-pumping words before kick-off that got the Stamford Bridge side firing on all cylinders.

Abraham explained: At the beginning of the game he said he has always loved this rivalry between Chelsea and Tottenham and if he could, he would have stepped onto that pitch and played.

He just asked and wanted us to go out there and leave everything on that pitch.

And from minute one that is what we showed.

Lampard struggled to contain his joy after the victory with a jubilant celebration in front of his players and the away supporters at the Tottenham Stadium.

And Abraham insists the passion he shows is energising the whole squad.

He said: His heart is in the club and he is showing that as a manager.

Its nice to have a manager that loves the club so much and wants to win every game.

He passes that on to the players and thats exactly what we showed.

Following last weeks defeat to Bournemouth, Lampard made three changes to his team as he reverted to a 3-4-3 formation.

It caught Spurs completely off-guard as they struggled to cope with the rampant Blues.

And after the front three of Abraham, Mason Mount and Willian tormented Spurs all afternoon, the towering frontman loves the flexibility he and his team-mates are showing even if it means more work for him up top.

The England international said: Its something we need. We are going to come up against different opponents who will sometimes drop deep, press us, so we have to be ready. Whatever the manager wants we have to apply.

Weve been learning from the beginning of the season and we are taking it into games.

We only had a short time to practice on this formation, but we have done it before against Wolves, so we were confident it would work.

Yeah it does [his role change] – theres a bit more running but its nothing I cant handle.

We felt that formation was going to help us beat Spurs and it worked.

The win was a much-needed boost to Chelseas top four hopes after a sticky run but the hotshot is adamant no-one will get carried after one of their best displays of the campaign.

He said: Its right up there, right up there – but we cannot get carried away.

We have some massive games coming up and we have to take this confidence into those.

And he also believes their domination will silence a number of doubters.

He added: I think so, but just for the meantime. It was a fantastic win and result and we played excellently.

There was not one point in the game when I felt worried.

That just shows how much confidence we have in this team but the journey is not done yet.
