ANDY CARROLL furiously claimed he receives unfair treatment from referees after the Newcastle striker was denied a penalty against Everton.

The 6ft 4in Geordie saw a spot-kick appeal at St James Park waved away on Saturday after Everton full-back Djibril Sidibe appeared to shov Carroll in the back.

The striker was denied a spot-kick at St James Park on Saturday after Everton full-back Djibril Sidibe appeared to shov Carroll

It came a fortnight after the forward clattered Burnley’s Ben Mee that resulted in Clarets manager Sean Dyche calling for a red card after the game.

But speaking to ChronicleLive, Carroll, 30, is adamant he does not receive the same treatment when it comes to refereeing decisions.

He said: “I feel like I get nothing. I got elbowed in the face and I didn’t go down, got nothing.

“I touch somebody jumping for the ball and it’s a foul or everybody is screaming for me to be sent off.

“But if I get two hands in my back, whether it’s a penalty or not, whatever, it’s nothing.

“I never seem to get a foul on the edge of the box or nothing.

Coutinho, Bale and Lemar are among the players that have seen their transfer value the most

“I get elbows in the back of the head all day long and I don’t get anything. Pushed in the back – nothing.

“That’s what it is, and I how I feel about, I get nothing.

“I had two hands on my back – and it could have been a pen.”

Carroll assisted Newcastles equaliser as he laid off to Fabian Schar to smash home inside the box.

But the striker gave the ball away in the build up to Evertons winner as Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored the decider with his second goal.

Further frustration followed as VAR decided against awarding Newcastle a late penalty as Carroll appeared to be shoved.

And the striker was left to rue his earlier mistake for Evertons winning goal.

He added: “I thought we did well and we had our chances.

“I saw the stats after the game and we’ve had 20 goal attempts. If you put all the games together we probably haven’t had that all season.

“That was a positive and we probably should have had more. It was sloppy from me on the halfway line for their second goal and then our heads went.

“We still had a couple of chances even then.”
