Giroud has agreed terms on 18-month Inter Milan deal but Chelsea and Serie A giants are 4m apart on valuation

OLIVER Giroud’s potential move to Inter Milan looks to be stalling as the two clubs are unable to agree on a fee for the Chelsea striker.

The French forward has been linked with a move to Italy for sometime and it was expected the deal would be completed in the near future.

Olivier Giroud could be on his way out of Chelsea this month – and could re-unite with Antonio Conte

Inter Milan are reportedly hoping to pay around 5m, half of Chelsea’s valuation.

Giroud is out of contract this summer but Chelsea are holding out for what they see as a fair price.

Only three starts this season has meant first-team football is a priority for the 33-year-old as his spell in England looks set to come to an end as he looks set to secure an 18-month deal in Italy.

Antonio Conte is hoping to provide support for key men Romelu Lukaku and Latauro Martinez with the signing of Giroud but the Italian side will have to increase their offer if they are to get their target.

Giroud has only played 191 minutes of Premier League football this season and is keen to leave to Stamford Bridge in a bid to get more time on the pitch.

Since joining from Arsenal in 2017, the striker has scored 19 goals for the Blues but has struggled to keep to Tammy Abraham out the side.

Abraham, 22, has 15 goals to his name this season having impressed on loan at Aston Villa the year before.

Inter have also been in talks to sign Manchester United defender Ashley Young and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen.

According to reports, Eriksen has agreed a four-a-half-year deal with the Italian side.

Inter are currently second in Serie A, two points behind leaders Juventus.
