RAFA NADAL has finally revealed the secret behind his successa slice of toast and pot of yogurt!
The Spaniard, 33, is chasing Roger Federer in the record books for the most mens Grand Slam singles titles.
Federer, 38, has 20 majors but Nadal is on 19 and could eclipse that figure at some stage this season.
Nadal, the French and US Open champion, is a superstitious bloke and follows the same routine before his biggest matches.
He reckons a hearty breakfast is the reason why he has managed to stay at the top of the sport for so long.
The world No.1, who plays Bolivian Hugo Dellien, on Tuesday, said: I dont change anything even if it is a final or not.
I normally eat some bread toast in the morning, maybe some yogurt. Thats my typical breakfast.
Before the match, I take a piece of fish and some white rice normally. Those are my normal meals before the matches.
For me, there is only passion and love for the game. And I try to stay positive in the tough months.
I have gone through some situations during my career. But I was able always with the positive attitude and the right people around me to find a way to keep going.
Because of my style of games, a lot of people said my career should be a little bit shorter.
But here we are. Im happy for that. Even for me its a big surprise to be where I am at my age. Im enjoying the situation.
Nadal lost in the 2019 Australian Open final to Novak Djokovic and that 6-3 6-2 6-3 performance by the Serbian was described as close to perfection.
Yet Nadal ended up the year as the top player in the world and he will hope his old injury woes do not resurface this decade.
