Whyte slams ‘s***-talker’ Tyson Fury and blasts his and Wilder’s ‘cherry-picked records’ with just one top-10 win each

DILLIAN WHYTE has slammed Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder for ‘cherry-picking’ their opponents as he claims his record is more impressive.

The Brit is coming off the back of a sensational knockout win over Alexander Povetkin in March, putting right his shock defeat to the Russian in August of last year.

Whyte stopped Povetkin in four rounds last month to avenge his loss last year
The Body Snatcher now wants to fight Wilder, Fury or Joshua

Whyte’s victory is the latest in a long line of impressive wins for the 33-year-old.

He has also already beaten the likes of Derek Chisora, Joseph Parker and Oscar Rivas in what is fast becoming an accomplished professional resume.

Meanwhile, Fury’s only major win since returning to the sport in 2018 came against Wilder last year.

And Wilder’s only high-profile victories have come against Luis Ortiz, knocking out the Cuban out in 2018 and then again in 2019.

Speaking about Fury, Whyte told Sky Sports: “Everyone let’s him get away with talking s***. It’s frustrating.

“Fury and Wilder get too much credit for their padded, cherry-picked records and have only beaten one current Ring Magazine top ten fighter each. I’ve beaten three.”

Although Fury has only beaten Wilder from those ranked in the top ten by The Ring magazine, he did also end Wladimir Klitschko’s 11-year unbeaten run with a brilliant victory in Germany in 2015.

The Gypsy King looks set to collide with Anthony Joshua later this year in an all-British fight for the undisputed heavyweight title.

Meanwhile, Whyte has set his sights on a clash with Wilder – a fight he has been calling for since 2017.

When quizzed on his plans for Whyte, promoter Eddie Hearn said: “I’d like to see him box quickly again in the summer, maybe go over to the States and have a fight over there.

“We called for the Deontay Wilder fight for a long, long time. [Wilder] actually DM’d Dillian Whyte and said I will never, ever give you that fight.

“And now he got knocked out and he’s calling for the fight with Dillian Whyte.

“For me that’s a stadium fight, that’s a colossal fight. I’d like to get him back out quickly, maybe to the States for a big fight.”
