Team Tizzard none the wiser as to Lostintranslations King George effort but Gold Cup still the end goal

THE Gold Cup dream is still burning bright with Lostintranslation.

After a King George no-show, the Tizzards are yet to find any major problem with their Betfair Chase hero and could use the Denman Chase as his Cheltenham warm-up.

Newbury could be the next port of call for Lostintranslation

The seven-year-old was pulled up at Kempton as Clan Des Obeaux cruised home, and jockey Robbie Power was quick to state his wind needed tweaking.

Connections are confident that was far from his showing but admit the pressure is now on to have him right for March.

Joe Tizzard, assistant to dad Colin, said: “Nothing else has come to light, and we are going to check his wind, and then it is our job to get him back for Cheltenham.

“Robbie said his palate was flapping, so we will have a look at his wind. It has been mentioned in the past, but it probably got exposed on soft ground.

“We looked at him Saturday morning, dad, myself and the head girl but that (run) was just too bad to be true, and horses do that sometimes. He was beaten way too early, and he was never travelling, so Im not going to say it is the track.

“The Gold Cup is still the aim one bad run doesnt make him a bad horse.

“Whether we run him again before, I dont know. If he only has a soft palate done, then a Denman Chase would suit to give him a confidence booster.”

Lostintranslation is now a best-priced 9-1 for the Gold Cup at the Cheltenham Festival.
