And Sarri – who swapped West London for Turin this summer – is looking to take advantage as he searches for further options in attack.

The Italian has lost Mario Mandzukic to Qatari side Al-Duhail already, and wants competition for Cristiano Ronaldo, Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala.

According to La Stampa in Italy, Sarri is ready to battle Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte for Giroud.

The ex-Arsenal forward has made just seven appearances this season with Tammy Abraham leading the line for Chelsea and Michy Batshuayi operating as second choice.

Giroud has spoken out about his frustration of sitting on the bench and a host of European sides are looking to pursue the striker, who has just six months left on his contract.

SunSport revealed Crystal Palace are ready to make an audacious attempt to keep the 33-year-old in the Premier League.

But they face competition from Rangers, Lyon and interest from MLS.

Giroud made his first league start in three months as he replaced Abraham against West Ham at the end of November.

But the French star failed to make an impact as he looked off the pace in the Blues shock 1-0 loss.

Giroud is joined by Pedro and Willian with just half a year left on their current Stamford Bridge deals.
