Cheeky England fans sing get De Kock out for the lads in hilarious chant as Roots side battle to beat South Africa

ENGLAND’S climactic test with South Africa descended into dad jokes and puns as Quinton de Kock was subjected to cheeky chants by the Barmy Army in Cape Town.

The second test went to the final session of day five with the tourists needing to bowl out South Africa for a much-needed win.

De Kock was proving hard to dismiss late in the day

However the travelling England support saw the lighter side as de Kock battled on at Newlands.

Chants of “get de Kock out for the lads” rang around the venue as the batsman remained at the crease through to tea.

And social media had a field day as the test drew to an enthralling close.

Twitter user Alex wrote: “England cricket fans singing “get De Kock out, get De Kock out, get De Kock out for the lads” is just exceptional.”

Nick joked: “The big question is: Can De Kock keep it up for another three hours..?”

While Tim remarked: “Had a look at the cricket score on the internet. Can England get de Kock out?Realise that for you lot over there it’s an old joke, but it’s new to me.”

Another posted: “Ignored be De Kock. Reminds me of my college days… Steady on!”

The chant has been a go-to for the barmy army since de Kock became one of the world’s top wicketkeeper-batsmen.

The 27-year-old also stood firm during the summer World Cup with a strong 68 against England in the tournament opener.
