RAHEEM STERLING took a tumble after being bonked on the head with a flying football in training.
The Manchester City star appeared to be playing in goal during the Premier League champions’ session ahead of their derby game against United in the Carabao Cup.
And as the wing star, 25, turned his back a ball flew out of the sky and clocked him on the bonce.
He tweeted: “And they say I always dive #NoVarNeeded”
Sterling and City are preparing to face Manchester United in tonight’s Carabao Cup semi-final first leg at Old Trafford.
And Pep Guardiola’s side are out for revenge, after their cross-town rivals stole a smash-and-grab victory at the Etihad Stadium.
Sterling was an unused substitute as City ran out 4-1 winners over Port Vale in the FA Cup third round.
And after playing just one minute in the Prem win over Everton, he has had some good rest ahead of tonight’s tie.
But he may be able to put his feet up again tonight, with a tough run of games coming up for city on the horizon, particularly in February, where they face Spurs, Leciester and Real Madrid, before welcoming Arsenal to the Etihad on March 1.
One reply on Twitter said: “He’s a tough cookies so I think he’ll carry on Jeff.”
Another fan pointed out the video where Kevin de Bruyne got whacked in the head by a fan taking a penalty with a Rabona, which left Sterling in stitches at the time.
He also put the video on Instagram, where it has over 1million views.
