Inter Milan submit 3.4m bid for Olivier Giroud but Chelsea want more than double for January transfer

INTER MILAN have reportedly made a 3.4million bid for Olivier Giroud.

The Guardian claims Antonio Conte has finally submitted an offer for the France international, who has made just five Premier League appearances this season.

Inter Milan have made a 3.4m bid for Olivier Giroud but Chelsea want 8.5m

However, Chelsea are apparently unwilling to accept such a low offer after Giroud entered the final six months of his contract.

Its said Frank Lampard wants 8.5m to let the 33-year-old leave Stamford Bridge this month.

But its unclear if Conte is willing to pay that for effectively a third-choice striker, with Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez leading the line in a 3-5-2 system.

Inter could instead make a move for Napolis Fernando Llorente by offering them Matteo Politano in a swap deal.

Giroud, who Conte signed for Chelsea from Arsenal for 18m two years ago, is reportedly keen on making the move to the San Siro as he sweats over his place in Didier Deschamps Euro 2020 squad.

His agent has already met with Inter chiefs and the ball is now in Chelsea’s park.

Fellow benched striker Michy Batshuayi is also keen on trying his luck elsewhere, with Roma interested.

But the Blues will only allow them to move if they can bring in a direct replacement.

Moussa Dembele is Lampards top target, with Chelsea scouting the Lyon star earlier this week.

He is valued at around 40m by the French side and is open to a Premier League move.

However, Juventus have reportedly joined the battle for Dembeles signature, with former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri keen on adding him to his already-impressive arsenal of attackers.
