Conor McGregor looks in frightening shape with bulking abs and biceps ahead of UFC 264 trilogy with Dustin Poirier

CONOR MCGREGOR looks to be in peak physical condition ahead of his return to the octagon.

The Notorious is currently gearing up for a blockbuster trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier, whom he’ll renew his rivalry with on July 10 in the main event of UFC 264 in Las Vegas.

McGregor, 32, has been hard at work in the gym ever since his ill-fated rematch with the American in January.

And his physique appears to have reaped the rewards of his hard work.

On Tuesday, the Irishman posted photos of himself during a weightlifting session to his Instagram.

The snaps showed McGregor incline bench pressing 50kg and performing incline flyes with 20kg dumbbells.

And the striations in his obliques and abdominals were popping out as he performed each exercise.

The post’s accompanying caption read: “Big Pumpin.”

McGregor will bid to exact revenge on Poirier when they renew their rivalry at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena.

The Dubliner suffered a brutal second-round KO loss to the former interim lightweight champion at UFC 257 in Abu Dhabi, a defeat that levelled their series at one win apiece.

McGregor is relishing the Sin City series decider and has vowed to get back into the win column in emphatic fashion.

He told Fox Sports: “All the marbles are on the line.

“I’m here training very, very hard. I’m about to go for my second session of the day. I’m in great condition already.

“I beat him in the original bout [in 2014]. I lost in the rematch.

“And then we’ve got trilogy, I’ve got a few little adjustments to make.

“I feel very, very confident. I’m very focused and driven.

“And I’ll go in there and put on one hell of a performance and get it back on July 10th.”

McGregor hasn’t tasted victory at lightweight in nearly five years but plans to end his long wait with a picture-perfect performance.

In May, Mystic Mac said: “July 10th I will do this absolutely flawlessly. We have these clowns sussed and fully!

“They wanna play a game of tactics? No problem, see you in there.

“You’ve awoken a beast. A beast with the backing of a much higher power! Say your prayers.”
