Man Utd boss Solskjaer eyes loan move for Atletico Madrids Marcos Llorente after securing Bruno Fernandes

MANCHESTER UNITED want to sign Marcos Llorente as well as Bruno Fernandes to ease their midfield injury crisis, according to reports.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is closing in on a 60million deal to bring long-term target Fernandes in from Sporting Lisbon.

Marcos Llorente has not been getting regular first-team starts since his move to Atleti

And the Manchester Evening News adds that a loan deal for out of favour Atletico Madrid ace Llorente is also on the cards.

United are without Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay through injury and midfield has been an area of concern this season.

Solskjaer has suggested that he will turn to the loan market to negotiate the notoriously difficult January window and target stars not playing regular football at top clubs.

The Real Madrid academy graduate joined Atleti for 35m over the summer but has failed to win a first-team spot.

Saul Niguez, Thomas Partey, Koke and Hector Herrera provide competition in a crowded engine room and Llorente has started just three league games this season.

Solskjaer said this week that he is targeting two signings this month and is hoping to wrap up a deal for Fernandes this weekend.

Last night’s Lisbon derby is expected to be the Portugal ace’s last game for Sporting and ended in a 2-0 defeat for his side.

Fernandes has been offered a 120,000-a-week deal to complete his Old Trafford switch.
