Brighton boss Graham Potter is unfazed by transfer speculation concerning centre-half Lewis Dunk

Dunk has been one of the major reasons for Potter’s impressive start to his reign on the South Coast.

Potter refuses to confirm or deny if the Londoners have made a bid for the defender.

He said: “He signed a long term contract (July 2018). We are quite relaxed about the situation.

I have really enjoyed working with Lewis as a footballer and as a person. He is really important for us and we are really happy that he is with us.
January is always a little bit different to every other month if we are being honest. There is always a lot going on, a lot of talk from you guys (media) questions and interest.

The window is open so there is more things going on in that regard but that is normal we know that is the case. When the window is open there is always more talk other than the football.

Former Bristol City centre-half Dunk was a key part of the Seagulls team which won promotion to the Premier League.
He has played 264 league games with Brighton in the top flight for the last three seasons.

But Blues boss Frank Lampard is believed to want him to beef up his back line and add competition for the likes of Antionio Rudiger, Kurt Zouma, Fikayo Tomiri and Andreas Christensen.

Chelsea were originally banned from investing in new transfers this month.

But their transfer ban was overturned and they are now looking to bring in at least two players this month.

Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho has also been linked with a 120m move.
