How has that won? Watch unbelievable finish where horse comes from MILES behind to win

THIS is the incredible finish that left punters scratching their heads after the winner came from miles behind for his breakthrough success.

Richie McLernon looked to be home and hosed on 3-1 Heavey, going easily and cruising in front three out.

The eventual winner was barely in shot as the horses approached the final few fences

Gavin Sheehan on 6-1 Nessfield Blue and 9-4 favourite Orchestrated under Charlie Hammond were miles behind and seemingly out of it.

McLernon is so far ahead you can even see when he looks behind him to see if anyone is trying to catch him.

At the point he would be forgiven for thinking the job was done – it was anything but.

In a truly remarkable finish, Sheehan and the Pat Murphy-trained Nessfield Blue find a surge of speed from somewhere to stun the longtime leader.

Victory in the 3m2f whichbookie.co.uk Betting Offers Handicap Chase at Fontwell netted connections £2,500.

But priceless was seeing their horse, pulled up in two of his past four starts and returning after a 165-day break, win his first race in jaw-dropping fashion.

Punters were stumped by the scenes, which just go to show nothing in racing is a certainty.

One said: “What a belter of a ride!”

Another commented: “Some get up by the winner.”

A fellw punter wrote: “F*** knows how Nessfield Blue won that. It had zero form to its name.”

While another posted: “Backers of Heavey @FontwellPark tearing up their betting slips into piles on the floor after the final fence, meeting backers of Nessfield Blue who were trying to find the remnants of their slips in the same place.

“The joy of the jumps.”
