Jake Paul tipped to score stunning upset victory over ‘novice’ Tommy Fury in battle of social media stars

JAKE PAUL will score a stunning upset victory over fellow boxing ‘novice’ Tommy Fury, Carl Frampton believes.

The YouTuber turned boxer will face the former Love Island star in a grudge match in Tampa, Florida on December 18.

The pair have been exchanging verbal jabs for months

And former super-bantamweight champ Carl Frampton has tipped Paul to score an upset victory over Fury

Paul’s lack of experience will see him go into the bout as a big underdog, but Frampton reckons The Problem Child will defy the odds and blow up TNT’s undefeated record.

The former WBA and IBF super-bantamweight told talkSPORT: “To be honest, I don’t really know much about them.

“I’ve seen Jake Paul, little highlights of him. I’ve seen Tommy Fury, I was actually working for BT for one of his fights as a pundit.

“I think that if you put a gun to my head, I think I fancy Jake Paul in that fight, if I’m being honest.

“Although he’s very, very new to boxing, he’s alright. He can box a bit.

“Yet to fight a proper boxer, but I think he’s been very careful with the opponents he does pick and I think Tommy Fury, a novice professional – let’s call a spade a spade, that’s what he is, a very novice professional with a lot to learn – I think he’s [Paul] getting him at the right time.

“I would probably edge Paul in that fight. I don’t like to say it because I don’t know how good that looks on boxing if he beats an actual boxer. I would edge him in the fight though.”

Should Fury lose to the former Disney star, he’ll be legally required to change his name to ‘Tommy Fumbles’.

But dad John is confident his reality TV star son will keep his and the family’s pride intact by putting a beating on the younger Paul brother.

He told BT Sport: “Tommy knows he’s up against a stacked deck, but he should still beat Jake Paul at a canter.

“And if he can’t, there’s no way in the boxing world for him.

“It’s make or break, for both men, but it’ll hit Tommy harder because Tommy’s supposed to be a professional boxer.

“Tommy will work hard, he’ll do what he’s gotta do.

“Has Tommy got the skill to beat him? Yes. Has he got the power to knock him out? Yes.

“All it is with Tommy – he’s young, can he handle the big occasion on the night?

“But I’m sure he’s thought about it many times before and he’s got the king of the ring in his corner.

“Tyson’s gonna be in his corner that night. I think Tyson’s flying out there in a few weeks to help him out.

“Whatever desire he’s missing, Tyson will put there, I’m sure of that.”
