Jake Paul suffering from memory loss and slurred speech as doctor advises YouTuber to QUIT boxing

JAKE PAUL has claimed to be suffering from memory loss less than two years into his professional boxing career.

YouTuber turned boxer Paul has been a pro for only 23 months but claims the blows he’s taken in sparring and in his four fights have worsened brain trauma he suffered playing American football.

Jake Paul has only be boxing professional for less than two years
But the former Disney star claims to already be suffering from the effects of CTE

Paul claims to be suffering from memory loss and slurred speech

The Problem Child told Graham Bensinger: “I got my brain scanned right before I started boxing and the doctor told me there’s lack of blood flow from the concussions I had playing football to certain areas on my brain.

“One of them I believe is the frontal lobe which is partial for memory and so on. After my first year of boxing, I went back and it was worse.”

Paul’s physician urged him not to continue boxing after seeing the extent of the damage to his brain.

He continued: “[The doctors] advice is don’t do that sport.

“That’s all they can advise as a doctor, I think before it was affecting me at a rapid pace because I never took it easy.

“I was always thrown in there with people who were way better than me until I started to slowly get to their level.”

Paul, 24, also admits his memory is not quite what it once was.

He said: “You’re doing something that is detrimental to your long term health.

“I notice it in conversations with my girlfriends or friends, not remembering something that I should be able to remember that happened a couple of days ago.

“Sometimes in my speech, there’s like every 100th or 200th word I’ll mess up or like slur, which I didn’t do that before.”

In a bid to combat the effects of CTE (chronic traumatic encephalopathy), Paul has been making use of psychedelic drugs.

He said: “I’ve talked to tons and tons of people about it and there’s new research and science to combat against it, things like psychedelics and toad.”

He later added: “It sounds crazy but it can actually increase the neural activity in your brain and open up new pathways, I’ve experimented with that and it’s definitely helped.”

Paul is currently gearing up for a rematch with former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, whom he’ll face in Tampa this weekend.

The former Disney star defeated The Chosen One via split decision in August but plans to go one better second time around, saying: “My prediction is a knockout.”
