Tyron Woodley awards fan £3,700 prize for making best meme of Jake Paul knocking him out as he ‘spreads Christmas love’

UFC legend Tyron Woodley has seen the funny side in his defeat against Jake Paul after gifting a fan £3,700 for making the best meme of him getting knocked out.

The 39-year-old was brutally stopped in the sixth round by the Problem Child in their rematch inside the squared circle last weekend.

A fan created a meme showing Woodley falling into the shadow realm after hitting the canvas

Former welterweight champion Woodley has since been medically suspended for 60 days following his second boxing loss at the hands of his American compatriot.

But instead of drowning his sorrows and feeling sorry for himself, Woodley has embraced his defeat, as he held a contest for his fans to create the best meme of him hitting the deck.

He stated that the winner, who must be following him on social media, would receive a cash prize of $5,000 (£3.7k).

And Woodley took to Instagram to state that user Chris Ashley won the competition.

Sharing the clip the fan made, Woodley said: “Merry Christmas! Spread some love and do some good.”

In the footage created by Ashley, Woodley can be seen falling into the shadow realm after he crashed to the canvas in the sixth round.

He subsequently took trips to a number of locations, where he made cameo appearances in the new Spider-Man: No Way Home movie, along with Finding Nemo.

Woodley was then shown sliding down a pole from Lil Nas X’s hit song MONTERO.

And the MMA icon then landed face down on a couch alongside Paul’s former foes in Ben Askren and Nate Robinson.

Accompanying the trio was an image of Conor McGregor, who was looking worse for wear after his trilogy defeat against Dustin Poirier in July.

Paul was full of praise for Woodley following his victory, as he declared he would love to be in a ‘buddy cop movie’ with The Chosen One.

He told TMZ: “He’s a legend and we have to respect Tyron.

Woodley eventually landed on a couch alongside Conor McGregor, Nate Diaz and Ben Askren

“He’s an amazing guy, I’m [going to] hit him up, people are saying we should do a podcast together.

“I think it’d be funny if we did a buddy cop movie together, so our relationship doesn’t end here.

“If he wants to retire then he should retire, but that’s up to him. I still think there’s a lot of money for him to make.”
