Boxers are ‘jealous’ of Jake Paul and ‘poor at self promotion’ says UFC legend after YouTuber battered Tyron Woodley

BOXERS criticising Jake Paul’s rise to fame in the sport have been accused of being ‘jealous’ of the YouTuber’s success.

The former Disney star turned boxer has rapidly become one of the most talked-about fighters in the game, along with his older brother Logan.

The attention the younger Paul brother has garnered has received plenty of criticism from notable names in the sport, who former UFC star Chael Sonnen believes are envious of The Problem Child.

The three-time UFC title challenger said on his YouTube channel: “‘He should fight a boxer’, that’s a quote.

“That is a quote said by everybody that wants to bury [Jake] Paul.

“Not one goddamn person has said a name. And the reason is, you don’t know them.

“Boxing has done a terrible job. Boxers do a terrible job with the self-promotion.

Paul, 24, scored a brutal one-punch viral KO of former UFC welterweight king Tyron Woodley late last year.

His sixth-round demolition of The Chosen One stretched his unbeaten record to a perfect 5-0.

Paul had a busy 2021 – fighting three times – and plans to take a prolonged break before returning to the ring.

Jake Paul flatlined former UFC welterweight champ Tyron Woodley last year

He said: “I don’t really know what’s next on the roadmap. I’ve done it all, I’ve accomplished what I want to accomplish.

“I need to take a break, I’ve been going at this non-stop for a year and a half and it’s a lot.

“I’m exhausted, I need to spend time with my family at Christmas and go on a vacation, I haven’t gone on a vacation since I was 18 years old.”
