Cheltenham Festival ante post tip: Templegate says 14-1 for exciting chaser is great value

THE Cheltenham Festival markets are really taking shape.

And so is Templegate’s portfolio of advised ante post bets he thinks could land the spoils come that third week in March.

Ahoy Senor has graduated well from hurdles to fences and Templegate thinks he is still decent value for the Festival

Here, Sun Racing’s top tipster takes a close look at one of the most exciting young chasers in the game.

And he makes a case for why he still represents great value.

Novice chasers to the fore

So much has happened in the past couple of weeks with the Festival in mind and the younger chasers in particular have caught the eye.

Bravemansgame got the better of Ahoy Senor in the Grade 1 Kauto Star at Kempton on Boxing Day.

At the same time, Galopin Des Champs was so impressive when winning on his chase debut at Leopardstown.

He is 7-4 favourite for the Festival Novices’ Chase with Bravemansgame 4-1 and Ahoy Senor 14s.

It looks as though the first two will swerve Bob Olinger in the Turners Novices’ Chase and that seems pretty wise.

I wouldn’t desert Ahoy Senor just yet even though Bravemansgame was impressive at Kempton.

That 14-1 is more than fair each-way and Lucinda Russell’s stable star still has plenty of scope to improve his jumping and the engine is definitely there.

He’s more than capable of hitting the frame if he can cross his fences better.

You can be sure Peter Scudamore will be doing plenty of work with him between now and March.

Advised: Ahoy Senor each way at 14-1 in the Festival Novices’ Chase
