Tottenham fans rage over unearthed Ollie Tanner tweets trolling Spurs & Harry Kane.. and cheering for rivals Arsenal

TOTTENHAM fans have already turned on Ollie Tanner – the non-league player set to become their first signing of the January window – after old tweets emerged of him mocking the club.

The 19-year-old, who currently plays for Isthmian League Premier Division side Lewes but was previously on the books of Spurs’ North London rivals Arsenal, was caught making fun of striker Harry Kane on social media back in 2018.

Other tweets also surfaced of the winger cheering on Arsenal and making fun of Tottenham.

This led to a series of furious responses from the Spurs faithful – who are yet to see any new players come through the door this month.

One Lilywhites supporter said: “We don’t want this Tanner lad… he’s a newborn Jack Wilshere.

“Too much disrespect to Spurs and Harry Kane.”

Another added: “So now the only player our club looks like signing as of this morning is a non league gooner in Ollie Tanner that takes the piss if Harry Kane?

“Even for Spurs this is, well, pathetic.”

Tanner also posted this about Spurs’ prices

And a third said: “Have a good day everyone (except you Ollie Tanner off of being a Harry Kane-mocking anti-Spurs t****r who shouldn’t even be considered as a purchase).”

Despite the controversy surrounding the tweets, Tanner looks set to complete a six-figure move to Tottenham after being offered a £100,000 deal.

Lewes will also receive between 10 and 20 per cent of the price he is sold for should Tottenham decide to offload him in the future.

The move comes after Tanner impressed Spurs while training with their U23 side.

However, the teenager’s arrival will not gloss over what has been a disappointing transfer window so far for Antonio Conte.

The Italian was hoping to secure Wolves winger Adama Traore before talks broke down and he eyed a return to Barcelona.

And Spurs also look set to miss out on Porto and Colombia midfielder Luis Diaz.

Liverpool appear to have hijacked a potential move as they close in on a £37.5million agreement.

Conte has been vocal about his intention to strengthen the squad before the window closes as they look to qualify for the Champions League by finishing in the top four.
