AC MILAN want to hijack Liverpool’s move for Fulham wonderkid Fabio Carvalho, according to reports.
The Reds were on the verge of signing the 19-year-old on Deadline Day, before the £8million deal collapsed at the 11th hour.
A five-year deal had been agreed following lengthy negotiations, but Liverpool failed to submit the relevant paperwork before the 11pm deadline.
Jurgen Klopp’s side remain keen on the England youth international, whose Fulham contract expires at the end of the season.
But they could now face some strong competition.
According to Calciomercato, Italian giants AC Milan want to beat the Reds to Carvalho’s signature.
They add that Milan chiefs have been in contact with the starlet’s representatives in recent weeks and that they want to profit from Liverpool’s bungled Deadline Day transfer attempt.
After featuring sporadically under Scott Parker last season, Carvalho has become a first-team regular under Marco Silva this term.

Carvalho added to his blossoming CV with an FA Cup goal against Manchester City yesterday.
But even his quality couldn’t prevent his side from falling 4-1 to the Premier League champions.
