Tyson Fury would be ‘much bigger’ if he was promoted by me and I think Dillian Whyte beats him, claims Eddie Hearn

EDDIE HEARN predicts Tyson Fury will lose to Dillian Whyte and claims he would be a ‘much bigger’ star if he promoted him.

The Matchroom Boxing boss came close to signing Fury in 2018 while the Gypsy King was making his inspirational comeback.

But the unbeaten heavyweight did not want to play second fiddle to Anthony Joshua, 32, while Hearn had his doubts on the returning Brit.

Since then, Fury has climbed back to the top of the heavyweight division under Hall of Fame promoter Frank Warren.

And he returns on April 23 at Wembley Stadium against Whyte, who has been promoted by Hearn for much of his career.

Hearn told Pro Boxing Fans: “Tyson Fury and John Fury I like them.

“Also, they’re not idiots. They know how much bigger he would be if I was promoting him. They know I’m the best promoter in the world.

“But, we’ve always had this little bit of back and forward, back and forward.

“I think they’re both very entertaining and I think Dillian Whyte is going to beat Tyson Fury.”

Hearn bid £24million for the rights to stage the all-British grudge match between Fury and Whyte, both 33.

But it was Warren who won the WBC purse bids with a record-breaking £30.6m offer.

Whyte is set to receive only 20 per cent of the split, a decision he has appealed with an arbitration process.

And the first-time world title challenger has remained largely radio silent since the fight announcement, even failing to attend the press conference.
