Canelo Alvarez shows off insane body transformation as he piles on muscle for light-heavyweight fight against Bivol

CANELO ALVAREZ has revealed an incredible body transformation ahead of his light-heavyweight fight with Dmitry Bivol next month.

The Mexican superstar will take on the 175lb Russian in Las Vegas on May 7.

Canelo has beefed up for his light-heavyweight clash

He is preparing to face Russian Bivol in May

Canelo did some work in the gym as he showcased his new physique

Canelo is looking to win a world title at light-heavyweight for a second time after he beat WBO champion Sergey Kovalev in 2019.

And he will now look to extend his superb 16-fight unbeaten run by claiming the WBA title as he kicks off his 2022 schedule.

Canelo looked significantly beefier in the most recent snaps of him preparing in the gym.

He is moving up from super-middleweight – where he beat Avni Yildirim, Billy Joe Saunders and Caleb Plant last year.

He looks a lot bigger now than he did for his super-middleweight fights in 2021

And the seven extra pounds are clearly impacting his frame as he looks bigger than ever just one month out from his next challenge.

If all goes to plan, Canelo hopes to fight Gennady Golovkin in a highly-anticipated trilogy fight in September.

The pair fought to a controversial draw in 2017 – a contest many felt Golovkin won.

They then rematched the following year and Alvarez took the victory by majority decision.

Since then Golovkin, 39, and Alvarez, 31, have gone their separate ways – with the Kazakh’s trainer Joel Diaz accusing Canelo of waiting for his man to get old.

Golovkin’s coach Diaz told Fight Hub TV: “We’ve already seen the first one and the second one.

“If you ask me personally what I think, and you want to hear it without filters, what for? It’s been four years already.

“They waited for him to get old. What for?”
