Tyson Fury’s crossover fight with Francis Ngannou slammed as f***ing stupid’ by UFC boss Dana White as talks continue

UFC president Dana White has shut down talk of a crossover fight between heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou and Tyson Fury.

The pair talked up a hybrid boxing match with MMA gloves just moments after Fury’s brutal sixth-round knockout of Dillian Whyte at Wembley last month.

Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou publicly talked up a crossover fight last month

Ngannou, who is out of contract in December, is hellbent on fighting The Gypsy King
But UFC president Dana White isn’t a fan of the fight

Both Ngannou and Fury are hellbent on sharing the ring next year, but White insists their proposed showdown is by no means guaranteed.

During an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, the veteran promoter said: “That fight’s definitely not a lock.

“They’ve been talking about it and everything. I mean, guys, Fury is the best boxer – one of the greatest boxers of all time.

“I mean, you look at the guys he’s beaten and how easily he’s beating them. I don’t know, we’ll see how this whole thing plays out.

“I don’t love the crossover fights. I don’t love ’em.”

Crossover fights, in White’s opinion, are a “f****** waste of time”.

When asked why he’s not a fan of the fights, the MMA mogul replied: “‘Cause they’re f*****’ stupid.

“F****** waste of time, energy, and money. …It’s silly, but I get it.”

Should the fight come to fruition, White doesn’t foresee it being an entertaining affair.

He continued: “Boxing is a massive advantage for Tyson Fury. Ngannou just wrestled Ciryl Gane.

“If you know anything about fighting, it’s a silly conversation.”

Ngannou, however, is adamant he’d give the undefeated Gypsy King a run for his money.

The Predator, who is out of contract in December, recently told The LadBible: “I think I can take everybody.

“Even the fact that I’m here, we are discussing about it, something will make sense.

“It’s just the proof that I can make it. He’s a great boxer. One of the best to ever do it. Personally, I think he’s a show guy.

“He’s a good show guy. He likes to have fun. He’s cool.

“And what I love about him, he’s a free man. He speaks free. He lives free.
