Oleksandr Usyk’s blunt reaction to Tyson Fury’s win over Dillian Whyte revealed with champ not impressed

OLEKSANDR USYK had a brutal and blunt reaction to Tyson Fury’s win over Dillian Whyte.

The Ukrainian watched the Wembley showdown on TV as Fury retained his WBC heavyweight crown.

Usyk watched the fight on TV but was not overly impressed by the standard

But although he gave credit for the stunning uppercut which knocked Whyte out in emphatic fashion, Usyk was largely unimpressed.

His promoter Alekander Krassyuk told SunSport: “I asked Usyk his impression.

“He said, ‘The fight was s*** but the knockout was a good one.’

“I watched it from ringside and I wasn’t impressed with the performance.

Tottenham vs Arsenal – offer: Get Spurs at 40/1, or Gunners at 50/1 to win

“I didn’t see big improvement from Tyson Fury compared to his first fight with Deontay Wilder.

“This was two clumsy heavyweights and there are too many question marks about both fighters.

“Tyson Fury wasn’t in good shape and Dillian Whyte didn’t perform with good skills.”

Fury vowed to hang up his gloves and insists he has now retired from boxing following the April win.

But Usyk is currently making preparations for his rematch with Anthony Joshua – with the location still not confirmed but likely Saudi Arabia – amid the difficult backdrop of the war in his homeland.

Krassyuk added: “We got official permission and he left the military but his mindset still remains the same.

“He is the champion in his soul and his heart he is the winner.

“And he knows as a professional he has work to do, the most difficult part that has to be done is the training camp.

“We have already settled his training camp where he has started to work hard and to recover from the psychological stress that every Ukrainian has had recently.

“For AJ this is probably his last chance. If he loses in the rematch, he will probably retire.

“Everyone around Joshua will advise him to use his advantages – his size, weight, his reach, his aggression probably.

“Usyk has his own advantages such as speed, his more dynamic footwork, his boxing IQ is high and he needs to put it all together.

“That will end up with a result that every Ukrainian is looking for.

“The good thing is Usyk is used to being under pressure.

“This time he’s not just fighting for the championship, but he is fighting for the whole of Ukraine, the people, he’s fighting for glory and victory for the country.”

Should Usyk beat Joshua again, Krassyuk wants to see the showdown with Fury – but admits it is not going to be easy.

He continued: “Fighting Fury is an opportunity for the whole world
to see the fight for the undisputed world heavyweight championship as soon as possible.

“But there are plenty of obstacles. First we have Usyk’s obligations to fight AJ – which he is doing.

“We would need to satisfy Usyk’s wants and Fury’s wants with the proper money.

“You cannot be a hundred per cent sure with anything Fury says or does.
