Boxer sent crashing through ropes in ‘knockout of the year’ as photographer forced to cradle his neck

SUPER flyweight boxer Jan Salvatierra was sent through the ropes following a brutal knockout from John Ramirez on Saturday.

Ramirez made his move halfway through the first round, landing a powerful right hand hit.

Ramirez sent Salvatierra through the ropes

The cameraman did an outstanding job to protect the fighter

The punch forced his opponent backwards and sent him hurtling through the ropes.

Luckily, a ringside photographer was in the right place at the right time and acted quickly to prevent the boxer from sustaining a serious injury by cradling his neck.

Against all odds, Salvatierra was able to get back up and climb back into the ring before the count was over.

But the referee called time on the fight regardless.
