Floyd Mayweather return to take place in OCTOBER despite claims the fight on a helipad would happen this Saturday

FLOYD MAYWEATHER is reportedly on course to return to the ring in October following the cancellation of his Dubai dust-up with Don Moore.

Mayweather’s exhibition with his former sparring partner – which was due to take place atop the Burj Al Arab last Saturday- was cancelled following the death of the former UAE president Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

But the former sparring partners will reportedly trade blows in October

It was recently claimed the pair’s showdown would be rescheduled for this weekend, although the event’s organisers have dismissed that notion.

They told The National that they plan to “respect the official mourning period” for the late president.

With the event being slated to take place on the Burj Al Arab’s helipad, organisers were keen to move the show until after the summer in order to be “considerate to the fighters and workers”.

Mayweather, 45, has yet to provide an update on his third exhibition since retiring from professional boxing in the summer of 2017.

But he took to Instagram to pay tribute to the UAE’s former leader.

He wrote: “Sending my condolences to the entire UAE. RIP Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed.”

Mayweather’s last exhibition took place last June and saw him lock horns with YouTuber Logan Paul at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.

Social media sensation Paul claims to have not been fully paid for the fight and is planning to take legal action against the boxing great.
