Man Utd supporters’ trust slam Glazers over ‘indefensible’ £11m payment after ‘one of worst seasons in living memory’

MANCHESTER UNITED Supporters’ Trust have slammed the Glazer family with the unpopular owners set to receive the bulk of an £11million dividend payment.

The trust have labelled the transaction as “indefensible” after the club just endured statistically its worst season of the Premier League era.

Man United shareholders are set to receive £11m today – with Joel and Avram Glazer pocketing the majority.

The Red Devils are yet to add to their squad this summer, despite seeing players like Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard leave.

And United’s supporters’ trust have labelled the situation as “totally unacceptable.

A statement read: “Today the Glazers pay themselves the lion’s share of an £11m dividend at the end of one of the worst seasons in living memory.

“Reward for failure is poor practice in any business, and totally unacceptable given the current state of things at United.

“MUST is advocating and pursuing a strategy of engagement with the club and its owners, to get a stronger voice for fans, but this payment is indefensible.

“We will be making this point, and demanding answers, in our direct meetings as well as through our representatives on the fans’ advisory board and fans’ forum.”

Another United fans’ group called The 1958 have taken their protest to the Red Devils’ London office in Mayfair.

They draped a flag over the entrance with the message: “We want our club back back. Some things are worth fighting for.”

United’s rivals have already strengthened, with City signing Erling Haaland and Liverpool recruiting Darwin Nunez.

While the Red Devils’ facilities at Old Trafford and Carrington are also in need of a facelift.

Upon news of the Glazers’ latest dividend payment, Gary Neville took to Twitter to slam the decision.

He wrote: “The Glazer Family should NOT be taking £11m in dividends this Friday.

“It isn’t right with the investment needed in the team, stadium and training ground.
