Bayer Leverkusen swoop for Man City starlet Edozie, 19, with winger latest young English star to make Bundesliga switch

BAYER LEVERKUSEN are set to sign Manchester City starlet Sam Edozie, according to reports.

The 19-year-old winger has impressed in City‘s youth ranks but only has one senior appearance to his name.

His only first-team outing came in the Community Shield last season in the 1-0 loss to Leicester City.

And according to Fabrizio Romano, Edozie is set to move to Germany to play for Leverkusen.

The German side have reached an agreement with City for the player.

Edozie will sign a two-year deal, keeping him at Leverkusen until the summer of 2024.

The move sees Edozie follow in the footsteps of the likes of Jadon Sancho, Jude Bellingham, Reiss Nelson and Reece Oxford.

Like Edozie, Sancho left City and went on to star for Borussia Dortmund.

Sancho played 135 times for Dortmund, netting 50 goals and registering 64 assists.

He then sealed a big money move to Manchester United last summer, but struggled to adapt to the Premier League.

Bellingham left Birmingham for Dortmund as a 17-year-old and has grown into a first-team regular and an England international.

The midfielder is being linked with a return to England as well as a move to Spain.
