Arsenal hero Aaron Ramsey makes £10,000 donation to Welsh charity as Juventus star joins fight against coronavirus

AARON RAMSEY has donated £10,000 to the fight against coronavirus in his homeland of Wales.
The Juventus star, 29, gave the money to the Cardiff and Vale Health charity via an online donation.

Aaron Ramsey has joined the fight against coronavirus, making a £10,000 donation.

Ramsey posted on the charity’s JustGiving page: “We really appreciate all of your hard work.”

The charity, who launched an appeal to raise money for local NHS workers to spend on vulnerable members of the community, praised Wales ace Ramsey’s gesture.

The Cardiff and Vale Health charity tweeted: “We’re absolutely blown away to announce a very generous donation from Wales & @juventusfc football star @aaronramsey to our #spreadthelove campaign for our staff during #COVID19.

“A huge thank you to Aaron, you’re our star!”

Ramsey’s donation ensured the charity surpassed their target of £10,000.

The ex-Arsenal midfielder, who started his career at Cardiff, remains in Italy, where more than 9,000 people have lost their lives during the crisis.

Ramsey posted on Instagram on Friday: “If you want to help please stay at home, protect the NHS and all the clinical and non clinical staff around the world and it will save lives.

“If you want to help in some other way you can make a donation.

“These are challenging times for our NHS whatever you can give will help the most vulnerable at this time.”

Ramsey’s Juventus teammates have been hit by the virus with Daniele Rugani, Paulo Dybala and Blaise Matuidi all testing positive for the disease.

Coronavirus has totally decimated the sporting calendar, with all football in Italy suspended indefinitely.

Italy has struggled to contain the virus with over 86,000 infected and over 9,000 confirmed deaths.
