Jake Paul’s next opponent Hasim Rahman Jr says YouTube boxing star KSI refused sparring in Las Vegas

HASIM RAHMAN JR has claimed KSI refused sparring with him in Las Vegas.

Rahman Jr is set to fight KSI’s YouTube rival Jake Paul on August 6 at New York’s iconic Madison Square Garden.

The heavyweight prospect comes into it off the back of his first loss, to McKenzie Morrison in April.

And KSI’s manager uploaded a video of the defeat on Twitter, with the video liked by the British celebrity.

Rahman Jr, 31, has hit back at the online goading and said KSI, 29, did not want to spar him in America.

He told No Limits Podcast: “They can do what they want. KSI would not get in the ring with me, sparring. KSI wouldn’t even spar me.

“So, I mean he can like, he can retweet, he could do whatever he wants.

“He wanted Viddal to fight me or whatever because he doesn’t want to fight me.

“I’ve been trying to spar KSI, when he was in Vegas, ‘No, he’s too big’. I mean, come on man.”

Rahman Jr could have been alluding to when KSI prepared for his rematch against Jake’s brother Logan, 27, in Vegas in 2019.

But KSI did spar Hasim Rahman Sr’s brother Muhsin Cason throughout that camp.

KSI’s former boxing coach Viddal Riley, 24, was also once due to fight Rahman Jr until an injury forced him out.

The son of a legend has filled in to fight Paul, 25, after Tommy Fury, 23, was unable to travel Stateside amid a visa issue.

And he defended his last loss to Morrison, 31, whose father Tommy also held heavyweight title.

Rahman Jr said: “These guys got a lot of kid fans, I’m not no kid.

“I’m not a KSI fan, I don’t care about nothing he liking, I don’t care about retweeting or what we got to say.

“I don’t even know who his manager is. They wanna replay me getting dropped 1,000 times, it don’t matter.

“You know there’s only one heavyweight champion of the world that never hit the canvas?

“Only one, out of all the heavyweight champions of the world, only one that can say, ‘I’ve never been knocked down’. And that’s Vitali Klitschko.

“Other than that, every other heavyweight champion hit the canvas at one point in time.

“So, I say that to say, it happens, it’s boxing, it’s the heavyweight division.

“I was fighting a guy that was 19-0 with 17 knockout, that’s a crazy knockout ratio and I was only 12-0. So I took the risk in that fight.”
