Chelsea boss Graham Potter plays old club Brighton in behind-closed-doors friendly as Chukwuemeka scores both in 2-1 win

CHELSEA boss Graham Potter faced his old club Brighton in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Saturday.

The Blues were due to take on Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

English coach Potter left Brighton for Chelsea eight days ago

Chukwuemeka scored both goals for Chelsea against Brighton

But the match was postponed due to a lack of police resources following the death of The Queen.

Brighton‘s clash with Crystal Palace was also called off.

And the two Premier League sides were keen to head into the international break with some form of action.

So they came together to play a friendly game without any spectators.

It comes just eight days after Potter officially left Brighton to replace Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea.

And his new club were the victors in the game as Carney Chukwuemeka scored both goals in a 2-1 win.

Chukwuemeka, 19, has not yet featured for the west London outfit so far this season.

He joined on a six-year deal from Aston Villa in the summer.

And the squad will now disperse as they jet off around the world for games with their national teams.

Potter’s first Premier League match in charge will be on Saturday, October 1 when they travel to Crystal Palace.

The Blues then face AC Milan twice in six days, either side of a home game against Wolves.
