Stunning Carol Vorderman celebrates £660 winner with Frankie Dettori after he rode her tip to victory at Ascot

STUNNING Carol Vorderman celebrated her £660 winner with the man who made it happen – by posing for a selfie with Frankie Dettori at Ascot.

The TV star, 61, looked incredible in a low-cut tartan dress on Champions Day.

The former Countdown star staked £120 on her selections in all

And was celebrating to the tune of £661… although it could have been so much more

And she showed she still retains her knowledge of the form by banging in a decent payday thanks to the iconic Italian jockey.

Vorders put £20 each-way on three horses in the second race last Saturday, the British Champions Sprint Stakes.

Her bet on either 3-1 favourite Kinross, 150-1 outsider Run To Freedom and 4-1 Creative Force totalled £120.

She was celebrating winning more than five times that a few minutes later when Kinross cruised home under legendary 51-year-old rider Dettori, who has admitted next year could be his last in the saddle.

But it could have been so much more had Vorderman picked those three horses to finish in that exact order.

If she had put just a quid on the trifecta she would have been celebrating to the tune of £2,700.

Even a quid on those three horses finishing in the top three in any order would have landed her £1,610.

Still, £661 in all is nothing to be sniffed at on a day of shock results, including Baaeed losing his unbeaten record in his final race.

Vorders wrote alongside a photo of her winning slip: “Boom, Champions Day, second race @Ascot.

“Three bets… came in 1,2,3. Go on Vorders… two from the top and one from wherever you like.

“Bet each-way £120. Winnings £661 gross. Come on, Vorders.”

Vorders later posted her selfie with Dettori, titling the snap ‘Ascot buddies’.

She added: “@frankiedettori Kinross winner yesterday @ascotracecourse.”

Vorders’ attention on racing will switch from the flat to the jumps as her beloved Cheltenham Festival pops up on the horizon.

Already talk is building towards racing’s biggest meeting next March.

Vorders told Sun Racing she had some of her best times there alongside late, great pal and fellow former Countdown host Richard Whiteley.

She said: “Whiters and I were always there. We used to go racing all the time, and let me tell you, Whiters was the biggest party animal you have ever come across.

“Mind you, I wasn’t far behind him!”
